Not resolved

I googled Marriott to look for a room and the Reservation Counter site came up. I was viewing it on my phone and missed that I had not gotten a Marriott site as their name was in very small letters above the much larger Marriott hotel heading.

Thinking I had reached a Marriott site, I called the number listed (which did not say 'Reservation Counter') and was directed to press the number for 'reservations'. The person who answered the phone also never identified himself as working for Reservation Counter, so I assumed I had reached a central Marriott reservations desk.

Subsequently when checking in I discovered that the Reservation Counter rate ended up being 20% more expensive than the hotel rate. I've used third party reservation services in the past (Expedia, etc.), but have never seen such a premium charged as what Reservation Counter charged, and in such a deceitful manner.

Product or Service Mentioned: Reservation Counter Marriott Room Booking.
